The classic game of chess is fun for all ages! This listing is for a custom handmade wood checker or chessboard. The chess board is crafted from the highest quality oak and black walnut hardwoods harvested in an environmentally safe way right here in Iowa. Additionally, each board comes with a complete set of wooden chess and checkers pieces.

Each checkerboard is handmade in our shop and goes through our proven finishing process. They are hand sanded and then receive several coats of environmentally safe oil to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. The topcoat is beeswax, which adds gloss and adds protection to the checkerboard. If taken care of the board will last for years to come.

Each board is made to order, there will be slight grain variations from the board pictured above.

Dimensions of the board are 16"wide by 16"long by 3/4"thick and each square is 2” x 2”. Each checker piece is 2" in diameter.
